Out of Sight but Not Out of Mind and Spirit

We lost Phil on May 4, 2003 as a result of a 2-car
accident on Oct 1, 2002.  He fought valiantly, but
the damage was too great.

He had a bright future in front of him filled with
teaching, researching, publishing, writing books,
having a family, and being a friend, brother, son,
and valuable contributor to this world.

Phil inspired people to do their best in all areas of
their lives.  He was never too busy to help out an
apt. neighbor with a flat tire or a trip to the store.
He was never too poor to put money into the
hands of  someone on the street - without

judgement or  questions.  He was never too busy to help out a student.  He believed in love for
other human beings; that love formed the basis of how to live life.  He believed in hard work and in
justice for all.  He believed in big hugs and could never give and get too many.

Phil prayed daily, even reminding himself of who/what to remember in his prayers by jotting it in his
planner.  He often carried a Bible with him.  Music was a big part of Phil's life - all kinds of music.
One of the reasons he volunteered for the L.A. Philharmonics was to be able to hear classical
music played.  He is missed.
